The camp brought together 115 diverse children and their families. The day began with an expression of unity in front of the community. Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, and Christian religious leaders blessed the program together with the ceremonial lighting of a traditional oil lamp. After some introductions, the youth performed dances and songs, across cultural traditions, for their families and neighbors.
With all the sharing, laughter, and friendships built during the camp, community members in Sri Lanka are fostering relationships and attitudes that could, one day, save lives.
