The religious leaders who participated in our Sri Lanka program from 2011-2013 are continuing to build peace between ethnic and religious groups in their own communities. Over the past few months, they worked in interfaith teams to rehabilitate a hospital in Trincomalee and held a successful Youthful Religious Leaders Workshop in Batticaloa. The Sri Lankan organization Sarvodaya, working in partnership with Karuna Center, has been providing logistical help to district councils of interfaith leaders. These councils, formed at the close of our 20-month program with Sarvodaya, are made up of ethnically diverse religious leaders who became close through our work together.
