Experience the beauty of Rwanda and the warmth of its culture, connect with inspirational women and men, and witness the country’s extraordinary recovery from the devastating genocide of 1994 during a 10-day journey with Karuna Center Director Olivia Dreier. You will hear remarkable stories of social healing and forgiveness as we meet with Rwandans—from local villages to the halls of parliament—who lead the nation’s transformation. It is said that everyone in Rwanda has a story to tell, and the act of listening can be life-changing.
Rwanda is a beautiful country of verdant hills, crystal clear lakes, striking volcanoes, exotic wildlife, and due to its altitude, a temperate climate. Kigali is a modern city with excellent roads, making it easy to take meaningful day trips from our home base at a hotel. We will travel away from Kigali to visit a rural community that is a model of reconciliation, as well as participate in a safari to see the remarkable recovery peace has allowed for savannah wildlife.
