United States
Karuna Center has led training seminars and community dialogues in the United States around difficult and divisive issues. A sampling of our work includes the following:
Community Dialogues
Middle East
Karuna Center facilitated a series of multi-faith dialogues in 2005 for citizens of the Northampton-Amherst area of Massachusetts to explore the complex issues surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and the political situation in the Middle East Region.
In 2009, in the wake of the current crisis in the Gaza, Karuna Center has been asked to facilitate a series of dialogues in the local college community.
U.S. Response to 9/11
The Karuna Center facilitated dialogues on the U.S. response to 9/11 both in the Northampton/Amherst and Boston areas of Massachusetts. Dialogues were held for community members and for high school teachers with divergent opinions; participants were coached in leading the dialogue process.
Introduction to Conflict Transformation for Visiting International Professionals
Karuna Center conducts training seminars for the Institute for Training and Development (Amherst, MA) for visiting professionals from various parts of the word. These have included such groups such as religious leaders from Uzbekistan, librarians from Georgia, and traditional leaders from Bolivia.
Karuna Center strives to share lessons learned from its international peacebuilding work through presentations, educational seminars and conferences, and speaking engagements. Please refer to the Services page for more information about keynote addresses and topics.
