Grenada

Dr. Paula Green serves as a Visiting Professor at Saint George’s University on the Caribbean island of Grenada, which trains tomorrow’s doctors and other professionals on a campus that welcomes students and faculty from 85 nations. More than 6400 SGU graduates now practice medicine around the world, including in developing countries.
Dr. Green was invited to SGU in 2008 and 2009 as a consultant in conflict management and peacebuilding by the Psychological Services Center director Dr. Terry Ruthrauff, who is a CONTACT graduate. Our programs have served hundreds of SGU administrators, faculty, staff, and students, as well as members of the Grenadian community.
We have offered workshops in such topics as intercultural communication and competence, conflict management skills, community building, and reconciliation. Members of SGU, with each other and with the Grenadian community, have built bridges, deepened trust and understanding, committed to joint programs, and empowered themselves to promote harmony, cultural sensitivity, and greater participation in the life of SGU and the surrounding region. Further programs with Karuna Center are planned for 2011.
