At Karuna Center,

we aspire to live by

these values, to see our future united with

human beings as diverse and vibrant as

these many hands. Reflecting on the past

year, we have completed strong multi-

year programs in Macedonia, Sri Lanka

and with the Tibetan community in India. 

As human beings we aspire to live by what 

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. referred to as an 

"inescapable network of mutuality, a single garment of destiny." 

May these many hands inspire you to hold 

the human family in love and respect.

In our new programs we will address 

ethnic conflicts in India and democracy

building in the Ukraine, as well as collab-

orate with Israeli and Palestinian NGOs

to tackle community and regional con-

flicts. More new programs are still in the

exploratory stage. 

Continuing projects in Senegal provide

capacity-building workshops for govern-

ment, opposition, and civil society leaders,

as they end a 22-year civil war. In Rwanda,

we continue work with the government

and community organizations on the chal-

lenges of restoration and reconciliation.
